The steps are not that big of a deal but most of the users don’t know if the Phone and Camera apps on the left and right side of the lock screen can be changed. Yes, you can select which apps to have as shortcuts on the lock screen instead of the default ones. Here’s how you can customize it on Android.

Add WhatsApp Icon To Lock Screen

Depending on the Android version and the maker of your device the steps may vary slightly. Having said that, you will get the idea where to look after going through the steps I have used here from Galaxy S9+ running on Android 8.0.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Next, select Lock screen and security.

  3. After that, go ahead and tap on App shortcuts.

  4. Under App Shortcuts, select left or right shortcut which you want to set as WhatsApp.

  5. On the next screen, you will see the list of all the apps. Select WhatsApp. Now, lock your phone and when you try to open it the next time you will be able to find WhatsApp as one of the apps shortcuts depending on where you added it.

Simply, swipe on WhatsApp icon, enter the passcode and get going on your favorite messaging app. Also Read: 15 Best Android Widgets To Customize Your Home Screen This surely is a small tweak but it goes a long way in saving your time.
