A shiny, shimmering piece of headphones, a rare memorabilia in the history of the Super Bowl XLVI, is now purchasable online at an eye-popping price of $750,000. This one-of-a-kind Diamond & Ruby Beats Pro Headphones was made by British luxury jeweller Graff and Apple, Inc. subsidiary Beats by Dre. It features over 1,500 diamonds weighing over 120 carats and 28 rubies comprising 3.35 carats, all set in pure platinum. The Jewel’s History
The pair of diamond and ruby headphones were created for half-time performers at Super Bowl XLVI where the New York Giants won against the New England Patriots. It has been worn by the electronic duo LMFAO, celebrity singer Madonna, and rapper Lil’ Wayne, since then. Rapper Grammy-winning American rapper Lil Wayne had also made headlines after sporting the diamond-encrusted ‘Beats Pro’ headphones at a basketball game. Back then, the headphones were rumored to cost $1 million. It was brought in November 2019 at Christie’s. The auction house had estimated it will sell between $100,000 to $150,000.
The Rise of Luxury Headphones
